Busui Ajaw is participating in the 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, titled “passing the fugitive on”, officially starting on June 14 in Berlin, Germany.
In a series of five paintings created especially for the exhibition, entitled "Oppression of an Ethnic Group by a Military State", Ajaw tells the story of the violence and repression she faced at the hands of the Myanmar military, leading to the displacement and disappearance of the Akha people.

*Ajaw's works is on view in the former Courthouse Lehrter Straße (an historic building formerly used as a courthouse and prison, which is now being made accessible for the first time after being vacant since 2012).
