nichido contemporary art is pleased to inform that the solo exhibition for Jannie Regnerus will take place at our gallery. Regnerus had an exhibition in Tokyo four years ago and this will be her second exhibition held in Tokyo. This time, she will present her latest photographs (about 5 works) together with drawings (5 to 10 works).

Jannie Regnerus first engaged in theatrical art and later moved on to fine art because of her strong interest in the natural phenomena. In her works, Regnerus awaits mystical moments in the nature of Netherlands and the action itself is not a ‘performance’ directed to the public but rather a personal ‘ritual’. The world she faces is full of dreams and fantasies everybody experiences in solitary play of childhood. Regnerus shots the environment around her as transformed personal experiences. Moreover, an everlasting story is being created from an instant image caught with light in the aesthetic nature.
